My tattooing style could best be described as indigenous inspired cultural fusion.
I have a passion for Polynesian and Native American black work, and draw influence for my art from indigenous peoples found throughout our world.
In my own art my passion lays in working primarily with black ink and the bodies natural curves and lines; the wearer and ink fuse together as active parts of the design as a whole. I am happy to do specific traditional styles as well as my own fusion brought to me from over 20 years of studying and admiring these art forms found in the diverse cultures of our world.
I feel that in today's society, the world of tattooing has lost much of the importance and sacredness of the ritual of receiving tatau (tattoo). Although the end product is important I believe that the overall experience of getting the tattoo, and especially the connection between the artist and client, should be considered equally so.
I am proud and grateful to live and tattoo in Portland Oregon one of the best cities in the world for tattoo art.
